Dennis Crookston

November 14, 1965 — November 16, 2022

Alliance:

Dennis w. Crookston, 56, passed away from earth 11/11/2022 at home in Alliance at 1238 am from congestive heart failure. His son maxwell and his "wife" Lisa were beside him trying to help. He was transported to Aultman Hospital where he was in a coma and on machines and officially passed on 11/16/2022 at 1135 am, two days after his 57th birthday. Dennis was born on November 14, 1965, in Salem, Ohio to Jerrilynn M. Sabo Crookston and Gerald Crookston. He attended Salem High School and later Alliance Vocational Commercial Art Class, where he first met Lisa. They knew they had something even back then, but it wasn't their time to be together. He was full of intelligence, loved history, reading, artwork, and science. His humor was out of this world. He was a big fan of Ohio State Football and was still a Cleveland Browns fan. He was stellar in wrestling and track and art in school. After graduation in 1984 from Salem High School, Dennis joined the U.S. Navy from where he was stationed on the USS Caloosahatchee as a Gunner's mate. He then moved to Ft. Pierce, Florida where he lived for the next 30 plus years managing lawn care, tropical plants and water lines for several condominiums as well as several managerial jobs. It wasn't until 2014, when he and Lisa found each other through a miracle.... He moved back to Alliance, along with his son, Max.

Survivors include his son Maxwell J. Crookston, his "wife" Lisa Simpkins Cox, sister Darcie Crookston Kessel (Scott), two stepsons, Wesley and Nicholas Simpkins, several nieces and nephews and our grandbabies he called his own.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and his brother, Doug. He was a Christian and firmly believed in a higher power, although his mind never stopped searching for answers. I am so so very thankful we got to have 8 years and three months of pure real True Love, (that I never really thought existed). We laughed and enjoyed every second together that we could.

Per Dennis' wishes, he wanted no fanfare... he wanted ashes to ashes ... back to the Earth. He did not want a funeral, but he said for everyone to smoke a big fat doobie and remember the good times. If you knew Dennis, True Love Never Dies.
