Darnell Hardy

March 16, 1986 — December 23, 2022

John Chapter 3 Verse 16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but will have everlasting life!
God has added a new star to the sky. There will be no more pain and no more suffering for Darnell Theartis Hardy. Darnell fought a long hard battle. He tried to be stronger than his illness, and hid his pain behind his smile. Darnell Theartis Hardy, passed on Friday, December 23rd, at 1:34 AM, surrounded by his loved ones! Darnell (DTH), was born on March 16, 1986, to Tina Hardy-Stargen and Marshall Crittenden. He gained a StepFather later in life, Jeffrey Stargen.
Darnell was a kind, loving person, who liked to have fun and would help anyone in need. His heart was genuine. He was compassionate to others and had an undeniable presence; to know him was to love him. He loved his family and friends with his all; they were his world and who he fought so hard to live for. Darnell, tried to be there for those he called friends and family, he made sure they knew they were loved. He thought at times he was a comedian, he was a Mr. Fix-It, and a handyman. He was the man you would call if you needed something done! He couldn’t dance a lick, but that never stopped him from busting out those moves; some he stole from his Uncle Marvin.
Darnell was that one person who had many roles, whether it was being a father, confidant, brother, wingman, best man, friend, lover, mechanic, uncle, cousin, life of the party, jack of all trades; he held down his role. Darnell was someone you could count on, regardless of your situation. He wouldn’t question why, he would just be there. Whether it was to listen, be a shoulder, share a memory, or just get something done, he would make time. Darnell was a light, a light that could never be dimmed, by any darkness or illness! He lit up a room with his energy, his smile and that laugh. We have lost something so special, but it truly was a blessing to know him and have him in our lives.
Darnell was preceded in death by his: (Cousin) Esther Rogers, (Uncle) Steven Hardy, (Aunt) Dora (Crittenden) Royster, (Uncle) Marvin Theartis Hardy, (Great-Grandmother) Katie Crittenden, (Grandma) Geraldine “Cricket” Parks, (Grandma) Helen Hardy, (Great Grandma) Bertha Hardy, (Grandpa) Charles Hardy and (Uncle) Larry Hardy, (Uncle) Melvin Hardy
His life story will never end, because his loved ones will carry him on in spirit and continue to share his life’s journey, they are: (Mother) Tina Hardy-Stargen, (NaNa) Elizabeth Hardy, (Stepfather) Jeffrey Stargen, (Aunt) Barbara Lynn Hardy, (Aunt) Francine Hardy, (Uncle) Butchie Hardy, (Aunt) Helen Hardy, (Uncle) Michael Hardy, (Uncle and Aunt) Michael and Michelle Crittenden, (Sister) Essence Crittenden, (Sister and Niece) Love and Lovelynn Hardy, (Brother) Derick T. Phillips, (Son) Tres Alexander-Hardy, (Stepson) Andre Wright Jr., (Stepdaughter) Lakeera Wright-Bonham, (Son) “Turtle”, (Fiancé) Shawna Alexander-Hardy, (Mother-In-Law) Barbara Alexander, (Cousin) Curtis “Joe” Royster, (Cousin) Shanita Westbrook, (Cousin) Floreign Jones, a host of Nieces and Nephews and The Sampson, Stargen and Williams families as well.
A special thank you to his cousin A’Mirah (Destin) Hardy, for caring for him when illness struck those who were assisting with his care. Your love and care allowed him to live out his time with respect and dignity. You truly were a blessing!
Thank you to those that provided contributions to the family, for Tina and Nana, and others (Barbara Lynn and Shawna), to be able to travel back and forth for his treatments and doctor's visits. Your help and prayers were appreciated.
We ask that if you knew him, then you toast him, and say what you loved and liked about him. Never forget him, and let him continue to live in your heart.
