Daniel A. Carlone

Dan “Dano” Carlone of Canton passed away on Saturday, March 20 in the comfort of his home after a short, but very courageous battle with cancer.

Dan was born on May 20, 1958, and grew up as a resident of Lake Cable, where his immense love for boating and fishing began. He attended Jackson High School, and worked for Ford, Republic Steel, and the Timken Company, among several other reputable companies. He enjoyed spending time outside, gardening, and riding his motorcycle. Dan was known as a “life of the party” kind of guy, with a heart of gold. He loved to surround himself with his friends, family, and lots of dogs. Dan loved his classic rock music, being around the lake, and grilling. He was also a die-hard Buckeyes, Browns, and Indians fan, and he loved to watch NASCAR races on Sunday afternoons. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Carlone, ex-wife and friend, Christine Carlone, and loving parents Tony and Glenna Carlone. Dan had been adopted as an infant, and was in recent years in contact with his birth mother, Joanne “Nancy” Danner, before her passing in 2015. Dan leaves behind his two beloved children, Olivia (Tim) Wawrowski and Anthony (Victoria Hanna-Lua) Carlone. He was a loving grandpa to Xavier Carlone, Gianna Wawrowski, and patiently waiting on the arrival of his third grandchild, Aiden Carlone, in May. He leaves behind mother-in-law Geneva “Sue” Walters, siblings Jim (Tami) Carlone, sisters Maria (Brandon) Rennicker, Cindy Clayton, Kelly Daugherty, Rick (Lorraine Pratt) Carman Jr., and William (Terina) Carman, sister-in-law Sherri Walters and brother-in-law Bobby Walters. He also had several nieces and nephews. Dan shared the last months of his life with his very best friend, Greg Thompson of Alliance, his wife, Debra, and their daughter, Shannon. Greg and his family have been the greatest blessing, helping Dan through the health battles he recently faced, and being there to pick up some of the pieces. The Thompson’s have made the end of Dans life not only peaceful, but fuller. Anthony and Olivia want to extend their utmost gratitude to them for everything they’ve done for him. As he walks through the gates of heaven to once again reunite with his beloved wife Judy, his friends and family are at peace knowing that they are together again, and Dan is no longer suffering in pain. Celebration of life is scheduled to be at the Lake Cable Clubhouse on May 8th, 2021 at 4pm with proper social distancing measures being observed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society in Dan’s name. Friends and family may share their online condolences at www.deansfuneralhome.com . Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home.
