Alfred Goins

August 30, 1947 — May 18, 2021

Alfred Richard Goins was the only child born to Harold Goins and the first born to Ruby McFarland on August 30, 1947 in Canton, Ohio. At a very young age his mother decided to move to St.Louis along with three of his younger siblings. Alfred spent most of his life in Ohio and commuting back and forth to St. Louis to be with his family. As he grew older he married , Rhea Goins and to this union their only son Ryan Goins was born. He worked as a sanitation worker for the state of Ohio. Alfred was always taunting his younger siblings to get a laugh from the family. He would put the smaller kids on top of the refrigerator , when he knew they were to small to jump down on their own. He would also take the heads of the girl’s dolls , lock them in a dark room and laugh about it all day. These are just a few stories of how he made life fun growing up with him. Later he married Patricia Goins and was happy to enjoy life and love each other until her unexpected passing in 2003. He was preceded in death by his dedicated  Father; Harold and his loving mother; Ruby., along with three of his siblings; Cardelia, Ernest, and Rickey, two nephews; Ramon and Cortez, He leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved son; Ryan, of South Carolina, a truly dedicated and devoted daughter; Renita (Daniel) Irvin of Canton, Ohio. My Journey’s Just Begun

Don't think of me as gone away
My journey's just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is but one
Just think of me as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years
Think of how I must be wishing
That you could know today
How nothing but your sadness
Can really go away
And think of me as living
In the hearts of those I touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And I know I was loved so much.
