Willow Weber, aged approximately 13 years old, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, surrounded by the people that loved her on the evening of Friday, October 2.A dachshund-beagle-terrier mix, Willow was adopted from the Stark County Humane Society when she was approximately 8 years old by Jackson Weber, and his parents, Amanda and Jack Weber, on May 7, 2022. Being a senior dog, the Webers knew their time with her would be shorter than they wanted, but they couldn’t resist her cute, little face. Ever an explorer, Willow escaped her fenced in back yard twice in the first week at her new home, but soon settled into her new life and became the sweetest and gentlest dog anyone could ask for. Over the 1,609 days they were together, the Webers tried to give Willow the best life she could possibly have with lots of treats and cuddles and care. She was also given many toys, but Willow didn’t care to play that way. And she rarely ever barked. Instead, she expressed herself through her eyes, the different perks of her hears, the wags of her tail, and the tippy-taps of her feet. Her favorite pastime, besides snacking and snuggling, was lounging in the oddest and most inconvenient locations. When she wasn’t doing that, she was often patrolling her yard, and on more than one occasion, she attempted to rescue baby bunnies she found hiding among the hostas. Although Willow was battling some ailments that come with age, she maintained the spirit of a puppy up until her final breath, bounding around the house just hours before her passing, and that’s how she will forever be remembered. Willow was preceded in death by a sister, Skittles. Although the two never met, the Weber family hopes that they are now together, bonded by the love the Webers will always carry in their hearts for both of those faithful canine companions.
