Wendell L. Newman, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully at his home on October 9, 2023. Born on June 27, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Wendell's journey through life has left an indelible mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A man of faith and kindness, Wendell's commitment to his community was unwavering. He dedicated his time to teaching Sunday school and was a devoted attendee of South Union Chapel in Alliance. His passion for sharing the teachings of his faith and his warm spirit touched the lives of many.

Education played a significant role in shaping Wendell's life. He graduated from Green High School in 1973 and went on to excel academically at Malone College in 1974. His thirst for knowledge remained insatiable throughout his life, and he continued to foster a love for learning within himself.

Wendell possessed a remarkable sense of humor that could light up any room. His infectious laughter could bring joy to even the most somber moments. His quick wit and playful nature were cherished by all who crossed paths with him.

 Wendell proudly served in the Army and was a passionate Military Supporter. He held great respect for those in uniform who dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.

When he wasn't busy with his various commitments, Wendell found solace in pursuing his hobbies and interests. Music was an integral part of his life, and he found great joy in exploring its diverse melodies. He also spent considerable time uncovering the secrets of his family's ancestry—an endeavor that brought him closer to understanding his roots.

An avid sports fan, Wendell actively cheered for Ohio State—bringing both excitement and friendly rivalry into conversations with fellow fans. Through wins and losses, he remained loyal to his beloved team, creating lasting memories with friends and family Preceding him in death were his parents; Harley and Ada (Mayle) Newman.

Wendell is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Newman, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. Their bond was one built on love and mutual support, a testament to the strength of their relationship. His sons, Jason (Jamie) Newman and Rocky (Karen) Newman, brought immense joy to his life. Wendell treasured being a father and found fulfillment in witnessing his sons' accomplishments.

In addition to his immediate family, Wendell is also survived by his sister, Debra Atkins, and his cherished grandchildren—Savannah, Lauren, Jameson, and Joanie Newman. He adored spending time with them, relishing in the simple joys of their laughter and youthful energy.

Wendell leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion. His uplifting spirit will continue to guide those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. As we mourn the loss of a remarkable individual, we find solace in the memories we shared and the many lives he touched. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
