Truman Virden

Truman Ernest Virden "Ernie" age 63 passed away on October 17, 2021 following a sudden illness that he battled to the very end. Born on December 1, 1957 in Sistersville, West Virginia to the late Melvin & Mary "Patsy" Virden. Ernie was a 1976 graduate of Alliance High School and was retired from FedEx Freight. He loved riding his Harley and one of his most memorable moments in life was traveling cross country on his bike with his friends to Sturgis, South Dakota.  He enjoyed camping and riding 4 wheelers in West Virginia with family. He loved to dance and accumulated many friends through the years as he was a long time member and board member of the Cleveland/ Akron Swing and Hustle Club (CASH Club) and the CASH BASH dance event. He has held offices as President, Vice-President, and 2nd Vice President from 1999-present. He was a huge part of forming the Cash Bash dance event and took over as Event Director in 2011 and held that position of President till present time. Most importantly his great love in life was his 2 grandsons Austin and Nathan, he loved every moment of being a grandpa "G-pa". He is survived by his only daughter Shannon (John) Grooms, Sister Glenda (Tim) Shellenberger, grandsons Austin Grooms and Nathan Mulinex, great grandchildren Violet and Ashtin Grooms. special nieces and nephews Jeffrey (Sabrina) Trissel, Melissa (Fritz) Trissel and Joseph Trissel, along with many aunts, uncles, & cousins from Canada, West Virginia, Florida & North Carolina and an enormous amount of extended family and friends. Ernie had a great love for family especially his mother whom he cared for after his father's death in 2017 until she joined him in 2020. He will be remembered as a fun loving kind hearted son, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend with a smile that could light up any  room. Please come and celebrate Ernie's life with visitation on October 29, 2021 at Almost Home Event Center, 230 S 12 Street Sebring, from 4p-530pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 530pm with Chaplain Freddie Rodriquez officiating. Friends and family are welcome to join us from 6pm-10pm as we dance, celebrate, fellowship, and honor the legacy of Ernie Virden.
