Tammy K. Santamaria

May 1, 1985 – June 8, 2026

Tammy K. Santamaria passed away far too soon on June 8, 2026, at the age of 41. She was a devoted friend, a warrior, and a true survivor who met life’s challenges with an unbreakable spirit.

Tammy was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Rita Marie Santamaria (Johnson), who passed away when Tammy was young. Rita was her true protector, and the deep love and protection Tammy received from her became the blueprint for how Tammy loved others throughout her life.

Tammy is survived by her brother, Den Santamaria, his wife Cali Santamaria, and their daughter Aurora Santamaria. She also leaves behind Vanessa Meserve, whom she helped raise and loved deeply as her adopted daughter. Tammy affectionately nicknamed her "Monkey" because, as a little girl, Vanessa would literally shimmy her way up Tammy just to give her a hug.

Tammy formed a tight-knit chosen family of friends to whom she was fiercely loyal. She would do absolutely anything to protect her circle. Known for her charisma and sharp sense of humor, she possessed the rare gift of being able to bring a smile to your face even in the most difficult moments.

Growing up in Waltham, Massachusetts, Tammy planted the roots of friendships that lasted a lifetime. Though life later took her to New Hampshire and Ohio, her heart remained deeply connected to her loved ones. Growing up with Tammy meant an endless supply of laughter and fun. She was famous for giving everyone a nickname that always stuck, and countless memories were made hanging out at the Wal-Lex roller skating rink and arcade, where Tammy was always ready to be silly—especially when the "Chicken Dance" came on. As children playing hide-and-seek, she would inevitably give her hiding spot away because she simply could not stop laughing.

Music truly lived inside Tammy. She possessed a beautiful singing voice and loved to share it, whether she was singing to her friends during childhood or taking the stage for karaoke night at Franco’s in Waltham. She also loved the freedom of the open road and held a lifelong passion for motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons.

Tammy will be missed more than words can express. Her strength, her beautiful voice, and her unforgettable spirit will remain with us always.
