Shawn William Trummer

Shawn William Trummer, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 15, 2025, in Medina, Ohio, at the age of 61. Born on July 26, 1964, in Alliance, Ohio.

Shawn was a proud graduate of Alliance High School, class of 1982, and further pursued his education at ITT Tech, where he made the Dean's List. Shawn embarked on a career that showcased his diverse skills, beginning as a cook at local restaurants during his youth. He later worked as a mechanical draftsman for East Ohio Manufacturing, following his experience at NASA Glenn Research Center, a pivotal moment in his professional life. It was there that he met his wife, Harriet Gilbert Trummer, the love of his life, with whom he shared 26 wonderful years of marriage.

Throughout his life, Shawn cherished the values instilled in him by his family. His mother taught him the art of cooking, which became one of his passions, while his father introduced him to the joys of fishing. As an adult, he emerged as a natural artist, expressing himself through his artwork and drawing. His love for creativity was matched by his enthusiasm as a devoted Star Wars fan, a passion that provided him immense joy.

Shawn leaves behind a loving family, including his parents, Bill and Joy Trummer; his children, Tony Walker and Art Gilbert; who will continue to honor him,  his brothers, Mitchell Trummer, Craig Brian, and Dean Whaley; his sister, Angel McKimm; and his devoted cousin, Brian Carpenter, who resided in Montana and shared a close bond with Shawn, speaking daily, extended family and friends. 

He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Harriet, as well as his mother, Jan Trummer; his sister, Jody Carter; and his brothers, Donn Carter and Wayne Whaley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Assembly of God, located at 45 E Harrison St, Alliance, OH 44601, starting at 5:30 PM on September 25, 2025, followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Todd Troyer officiating. After the service, there will be an opportunity for family and friends to gather. In place of flowers, donations can be made to the church in his memory.

Shawn William Trummer will be remembered for his creativity, his kindness, and the love he shared with those around him. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home, Sebring, Ohio.
