Shawn L. Strait, born on April 1, 1974, in Alliance, Ohio, passed away on April 23, 2026, at Woodlawn Compassionate Care in Canton. Shawn’s life was marked by a unique blend of humor and warmth, qualities that made him a memorable presence to those who knew him.

Shawn attended Marlington and achieved his GED, a testament to his determination and perseverance. Throughout his life, he was known for his infectious laughter and playful spirit, often taking on the role of instigator in any gathering, bringing joy and light-heartedness to many moments.

His interests were varied and reflected a man who appreciated life’s simple pleasures. Shawn enjoyed spending his time playing Xbox, gambling, and absorbing music across all genres, embracing a wide range of sounds that fueled his energetic personality.

He is survived by his loving mother, Karen Williams; his girlfriend, Jessica Dunsmore; his brothers Joshua and Shane; and his two beloved sons, Alex and Andrew. These family members remain a living legacy of his life.

Shawn was predeceased by his grandparents, his Aunt Rhonda, and his Uncle Jeff, whose memories he cherished.
