Robert was born on May 10, 1950. He attended Ellet High School and graduated with the class of 1968. Following his passion for healthcare, he pursued nursing at the University of Akron, where he furthered his education to become a registered nurse.

For an impressive tenure of 38 years, Robert dedicated his professional life to serving others as a nurse at Akron City Hospital. His commitment to caring for patients and improving their well-being was widely recognized and greatly appreciated by colleagues, patients, and the entire community.

Beyond his career in nursing, Robert had a zest for life that touched countless lives around him. He cherished spending time with his children and actively supported parks and recreational activities that they enjoyed together. Whether it was biking through scenic trails or exploring nature during camping trips, Robert's love for outdoor adventures fostered lasting memories with his children.

Traveling was another passion that brought Robert immense joy. His adventurous spirit led him to explore various destinations worldwide. From hiking in breathtaking landscapes to honing his golfing skills on picturesque courses, he embraced every opportunity to create remarkable memories.

In the realm of sports, Robert had a proud history as part of the Akron University Rugby Team during the 1970s. He traveled throughout Europe showcasing his skills alongside the "Ole' Boys Team." Additionally, he played baseball for many years as a valued member of Ray's in Kent Team.

Robert leaves behind a legacy not only in his professional achievements but also within the hearts of his surviving family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his loving sons, Clark N Szeligo, Benjamin T Szeligo, Brian (Katie(Broz)Szeligo R.N.) R Szeligo, and his adoring daughter Gwendolyn L Szeligo R.N. He will also be dearly missed by Oliver "Ollie" Szeligo. Their lives have been forever enriched by the love, guidance, and support he provided them throughout the years.
