Robert A Houmard

Robert “Bob” Andrew Houmard, 76, of Alliance, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025. He was born July 15, 1949, in Canton, Ohio to the late Vernon and Mary (Crozier) Houmard.

He graduated from Canton South High School in 1967 and worked for his father at Tree Work Nursery and Landscaping. He was an electrician for Canton Electrical Welfare 540 and retired in 2004 at age 55.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joanne (McKnight) whom he married on October 18, 1980 at Union Avenue Methodist Church in Alliance, Ohio; three daughters, Lauren Houmard, Alaina (Jesse) Wells, and Meredith (Ronald Lynch) Houmard; sisters, Rita (Thomas) Forsythe and Beth Spahr; brother, Joe Houmard; grandchildren, Ryley and Ronny Lynch, and Kira, Kali, and Kane Wells; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bob especially loved golfing, crosswords, mahjong, spending time with family and friends, and being Pop Pop to his grandchildren. He had a long-standing breakfast tradition with friends at Shorty’s / MUD’s (Mount Union Diner) every weekday. He loved his Wednesday night golf league at Tannenhauf Golf Club, where he joined the Hole In One Club for #11 on April 28, 2021. He had Monday morning golf league with the Old Coots. Bob and Joanne enjoyed Friday night dinners at Don Pancho’s and were longtime season ticket holders for the Mount Union Purple Raiders football team.

Per Bob’s wishes, no visitation or service will be observed. An inurnment ceremony will be held later for family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to support patients and their loved ones at Aultman Hospice and Compassionate Care Center.
