Richard William Baker age 63, of Alliance Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2026.
Funeral arrangements are being provided by Dean’s Funeral Home, Sebring, Ohio. There will be no calling hours, however, A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Ritch and his twin brother Russel Charles Baker, who preceded him in death January 2014, were born in Alliance, Ohio on December 23, 1962, both graduated from Marlington High School in 1981.
Ritch worked as a cashier at Thornes, in Alliance, for seven years. He was widely known throughout his time there to customers and co-workers alike for his extreme kindness and helpfulness.
He earned a certification, through Alliance High School, for medical transcription in 1998, graduating with High Honors.
He also worked on the night time cleaning crew at The University of Mount Union. He took much pride in his work there and with his knowledge of the University buildings, their proper care and their history.
Ritch loved music, movies and writing. His love for animals was only matched by his incredible love for his family, his cherished memories of his childhood friends and his treasured memories of growing up in Beechwood. He was most fittingly described by his brother Don as having had a “Tender Heart”. Anyone who spoke with him or knew him would certainly agree.
Ritch had a very broad knowledge of military history, which he always enjoyed discussing in great detail. As a hobby, he kept an extensive journal of current events in our country, expressing his views, thoughts and observations.
He is survived by his brothers Don (Patricia) David (Mary) and Ken (Sandy) Baker and numerous nieces and nephews and family.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Elva Renz Baker and James H. Baker and his identical twin brother Russell Charles Baker.

The Baker family wishes to give a heartfelt Thank You to the Doctors, Practitioners, Nurses, Therapist and crew at Canton Aultman Hospital Surgical I.C.U.. Thank you for your expert care, truly genuine kindness, guidance and tremendous support through Ritch’s stay with them. You are truly a group of extraordinary people. Thank you!
