Rhonda J. Strait, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at the Orchards of Alliance. She was born on December 5, 1955, in Alliance, Ohio, and spent her vibrant life in service to her community and devoted to her family.
Rhonda dedicated 24 years of her career to the Sebring Police Department, where she worked as a dispatcher, desk officer, deputy clerk of court, and notary. Her steadfast presence in such a vital role was a testament to her commitment to public service and her deep-seated dedication to the safety and well-being of others.
A proud graduate of Marlington High School in 1974, Rhonda furthered her education and graduated with honors from the Alliance Career Center with a Diploma in Medical Billing and Coding. This academic achievement showcased her drive and determination, qualities that would shine through in both her professional and personal life.
Beyond her career, Rhonda was actively involved in community and civic organizations, proudly serving as a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Police Association. She also held a special place in her heart for the Sebring Post 76 American Legion Women's Auxiliary, with which she volunteered for 24 years. Her contributions left an indelible mark on those around her.
Rhonda's warmth, kindness, and unwavering support touched many lives. She is survived by her cherished children, Angi (Robb) Beckett, Amanda Bates, Bob Brodzinski (Brittany), and Brian Brodzinski (Trudy). Her legacy continues through her eight adoring grandchildren, Carli, MaKayla, Connor, Jared, Jaden, Emilee Beckett, Susie and Autumn Brodzinski, who will carry precious memories of their beloved grandmother in their hearts forever. Rhonda also leaves behind her loving sisters, Diana Koons and Karen Williams, her special friend, Ronald "Mickey" Moore, along with several nieces and nephews who were dear to her.
Rhonda's enduring friendship with Ellen Blevins, a best friend of 43 years, was a source of joy and support throughout her life. Together, they created countless cherished memories that will remain etched in their hearts.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her loving parents, Herbert L. and Nadine J. (Lacher) Strait, her ex-husband of 24 years, Henry "Sonny" Brodzinski, and her brother Jeff Strait. Their memories, along with Rhonda’s vibrant spirit, will live on in the stories shared by those who loved her.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we remember Rhonda for her compassionate heart, her strength, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
