“She was a warrior filled with God’s kindness.”“He knows her name. And He will never forget it. ‘I have written your name on My hand.’ — Isaiah 49:16”

Patricia Ann Wright, 81, of Atlanta, Georgia, peacefully entered her rest on February 12, 2026, after a long and courageous journey through illness. She was born on July 6, 1944, in Bartow, Florida, to the late Rose Dorsey and Hiram Dorsey, and spent her formative years in Alliance, Ohio. As a young woman, Patricia moved to Los Angeles, California, where she built her life and lovingly reared her daughters. It was there that she poured her strength, faith, and devotion into raising her girls, laying a foundation of resilience and belief in God that would guide them for the rest of their lives. While in Los Angeles, she and her family faithfully attended Los Angeles Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, where her commitment to worship and service continued to flourish.

Patricia was the beloved widow of the late William Wright; a devoted mother; a cherished grandmother; and a proud great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to serving others, both within her family and through her distinguished career as a nurse. A graduate of Los Angeles Trade Technical College, Patricia built a respected career in healthcare, where her compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment touched countless lives. Nursing was not merely her profession—it was her ministry and her calling.

She was a faithful and active member of Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she found deep joy in worship, fellowship, and service. Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life and the steady foundation upon which she stood.

Our mother was kind, caring, and selflessly placing the needs of her family before her own. She faced every trial with quiet strength, grace, and dignity. Even as her body grew weary, her spirit remained anchored in Christ. Like Job of old, who endured physical suffering yet declared, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him,” she trusted fully in the sovereignty of God. Though her afflictions were many, she understood that God’s will and timing are perfect. In her weakness, His strength was revealed.

2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us: “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”Through her illnesses and trials, Patricia’s faith shone brighter. Her suffering produced patience, love, kindness, and unwavering hope in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Even in her final hours, her faith gave her daughters courage and peace. Her willingness to live, to fight, and to trust God encouraged family, friends, and caregivers alike to endure with love, joy, and forgiveness.

As a devoted believer in the blessed hope, she rested in the promise that this goodbye is not forever. We hold fast to the assurance that at the Advent of Jesus Christ, when He appears in the clouds of glory, we will see her again. What a glorious reunion it will be—to meet once more, perhaps under the shade of the biggest mango tree in heaven, rejoicing together in the presence of our Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children: Cerilla Wright, Hope Renee Wright, and Shani Gonzalez; her treasured grandchildren: Frederic Brown Jr., Dominique Brown, Simone Brown, Michael Brown, Brooke Bowens, Angelo Bowens, and Brannon Graham Jr.; her adored great-grandchildren: Frederic Brown III and Ezekiel Brown; and her loving sisters: Sandra Merritt and Sherry Napier. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Hiram Dorsey Jr.; her sister, Sylvia Fields.

A funeral service will be held at Faith City in Alliance, Ohio, on March 3, 2026.

Momma, you will forever remain in our hearts. Your love will guide us always. We love you dearly. Rest peacefully until that great and glorious morning.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38

A note from her 3 girls

Speak of strength, faith, perseverance, and resilience — that was our Momma. Whatever she set her mind to, she pursued it with determination, trusting in the Lord with all her heart, and it was accomplished. She carried a faith that was unshakable and a strength that was unmatched.

For more than 30 years, our momma was physically confined to a wheelchair, yet her mind and spirit were never confined. She remained intelligent, articulate, courageous, and above all, a true woman of God. She taught us not to internalize the negative words of others, but to forgive and move forward with grace. She reminded us that life would bring rough seasons, but not to dwell on them — instead, to keep our focus on the Lord, trusting that He would guide our steps. She lived and taught us that the Lord will always make a way.

By her example, Momma showed her girls the true meaning of believing in God. She taught us to walk with our heads held high, regardless of what others might think or say. The love she poured into her daughters and into everyone she encountered flowed from a humble, selfless, and giving heart — so much like Jesus.

Momma will be deeply and truly missed. Yet we hold tightly to our promise to one another — that we will meet her again under the mango tree in heaven. For now, she is resting until that great getting-up morning.

Rest well, our beautiful Mommy.

With all our love,Your girls.

In Loving Memory Of Our Beautiful Mother

God saw you getting tired

and a cure was not to be

So, He put His arms around you

and He whispered "Come to Me'

With tearful eyes we watched you.

We watched you fade away.

Although we loved you dearly

We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating

Hard-working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He chose to take the best,

It's lonesome here without you

we miss you more each day.

Life doesn't seem the same

since you have gone away.

When days are sad and lonely

and everything goes wrong,

we seem to hear you whisper

"Cheer Up and Carry On"

Each time we see your picture

You seem to smile and say,

"Don't cry, I'm in God's hands,

we'll meet again someday!"
