“Gone from my sight but not from my heart.”
Nancy Charm (Bailey) Hunt, age 82, of Deerfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2026, at her home after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Nancy was born on October 6, 1943, in Nicholas County, West Virginia, to the late Albert Astor Bailey and Vivian Idell (Ocheltree) Bailey. On June 8, 1963, she married the love of her life, Rev. Delford William Hunt, with whom she shared many wonderful years before his passing in 2007.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings Brenda O’dell, Scotty Bailey, Ansel Bailey, and Larry Bailey, as well as her grandson Cory Hunt.
Nancy is survived by her three beloved children: son Jeffery W. Hunt and his wife Pamela J. Hunt, and daughters Kimberly A. Harper and Lorinda K. Sudimak. She was a proud grandmother to Josie, Jeffery Jr., Shane, Jordan, Brittney, and Tanya; a cherished great-grandmother to Alexis (Lexi), Chelsea, Addison, Evelynn, Amaliya, Gage, Makayla, Amiya, and Alexander; and a loving great-great-grandmother to Weston. She is also survived by her lifelong friends, Patty and Jerry Dorsey, who held a special place in her heart.
Nancy’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was deeply devoted to God and believed wholeheartedly in heaven. She found peace and joy in tending her flowers, decorating her home, and enjoying nature’s simple beauty. She especially loved watching hummingbirds flutter by and butterflies dance among her garden blooms. She loved going for walks, listening to music—especially Elvis—coloring, and spending time with her family.
Family meant everything to Nancy. Nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether it was sharing a meal, laughing over memories, or simply sitting together on the porch, she cherished every moment with them. Her love for her family was boundless and unconditional, and she made sure everyone felt it.
Nancy possessed a soul as pure and delicate as one could ever encounter. There was an unmistakable authenticity about her—an inner light that seemed to fill the room and linger in the air around her. Her joyful spirit and radiant smile touched everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression that could never be forgotten. To know Nancy was to love her, and her presence will forever remain a beautiful memory in the hearts of those she touched.
She missed her husband dearly every day since his passing, often speaking with hope and love about their reunion in heaven. Her warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Services for family and friends will be held at Deerfield Cemetery on Thursday, April 2, at 1:00 p.m.
