Nancy Virginia Cornell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away at her home on November 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on July 4, 1948, in Steubenville, Ohio, Nancy lived a life rich with memories and dedication to her loved ones.
After graduating from Jefferson-Union High School in Richmond, Ohio, Nancy went on to build a fulfilling career. She worked with Head start, where her nurturing spirit was instrumental in shaping the lives of young children, and later retired from the Heinz Company in Massillon, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
Nancy was known for her vibrant personality and her passion for traveling, which brought her joy and broadened her horizons. She took great pleasure in sewing blankets for her grandbabies, creating tangible tokens of her love and care. A devoted fan of the Game Show Network, she particularly enjoyed watching “Whammy,” finding fun in every challenge presented on screen. Her love of reading also brought her comfort and enjoyment, as she explored the pages of various books.
Above all, Nancy took the greatest pride in her family. Her children survive her: Jack "Lee" (Whitney) Cornell, Lorie (Tim) Floreanini, Charles "John" (Pam) Cornell and Frank Cornell. Nancy was the proud grandmother of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored immensely, alongside a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will deeply miss her.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, her brothers James "Jim" and William "Bill" Martin, and her sister Maryann Rice. Their memories continue to live on in the hearts of those who remember her fondly.
Nancy Virginia Cornell will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her warm heart, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her legacy will endure within the cherished memories held by her family and friends, and she will be missed beyond measure. Donations in her honor can be made to Davita Dialysis or Harmony Hospice. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home, Sebring, Ohio.
