**Obituary for Martino "Marty" "Wella" Montalvo**

Martina "Marty" "Wella" Montalvo, beloved daughter of Sigifredo Montalvo and Cecilia Huerta, left this world unexpectedly on April 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Marty’s journey was marked by her indomitable spirit, as she faced a multitude of health challenges throughout her life, bravely exceeding expectations with unwavering determination, including over 11 years of dialysis treatments.

Born on August 15, 1967, in San Benito, Texas, and later moving to West Unity, Ohio, at the age of 10, Marty found joy in life’s simple pleasures. In her nurturing role as a homemaker, she showed immense love to her family, including her partner of 37 years, Robert McIlvain, whom she has now joyfully reunited with in eternal rest.

Marty was a devoted mother to her two beautiful daughters, Olivia (Eric) Delventhal of Bryan, Ohio, and Jessica (Shawn) Dugan of Alliance, Ohio. She was also a proud grandma/Wella to her three cherished grandchildren: Anthony Marino of Alliance, Kiara Marino, and Zane Roose of Bryan. Her generosity of spirit was evident to all, especially her sisters — Mary Galindo of Kentucky, Lupe Huerta of Bryan, Melva (Jorge) Hernandez of Louisville, Maria (Kirk) Johnson of Pioneer, and her brother Martin Montalvo of Texas. She held a special place in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews, who brightened her days.

Marty’s love for music and nature were constants in her life. Despite her blindness, she embraced life by learning braille and adapting to new technologies to connect with her loved ones. She cherished sitting outdoors, relishing hours in the beauty of nature, and enjoyed lively card games and camping trips filled with laughter alongside family and friends. Two years ago, she dedicated her life to the Lord, discovering comfort in worship music and the words of the Bible, embracing a profound joy that uplifted her spirit.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with cherished loved ones, including her husband Robert, her mother Cecilia, her father Sigifredo, and her sister Juanita Rivera.

A celebration of Martina's life will be held at a later date, as details will be announced in the coming weeks. She will forever be remembered for her strength, love, and the light she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
