Her life was marked by a love of learning, a devotion to teaching, and a willingness to put the needs of family and others before herself.

Lynn A. Sharpnack, a longtime resident of Sebring, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on August 17, 2026, at 10:00 am, surrounded by loved ones.

Lynn is reunited in Heaven with her father, George Sharpnack; her mother, Anne Sharpnack; and her brother, Barry Sharpnack.

She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, including Lewis Sharpnack; Barrett Sharpnack; Robert and Ashly Sharpnack and their daughter, Hadley Sharpnack; and Constance and James Duschl and their children, Allison, Barry, Andrew, and Aurora Duschl. She is also survived by the many others whom she lovingly considered her unofficially adopted nieces and nephews.

Lynn graduated from West Branch High School, Class of 1971, with honors. She continued her education at Ohio State University and Louisiana State University, where she received multiple degrees in zoology and other sciences.

Lynn also conducted post-master's research in fish karyology and pursued her passion for education and the sciences through advanced study. For anyone that knows her, you know how how passionate she was about her fish studies. She absolutely adored fish.

After completing her education, Lynn devoted many years of her life to teaching. She served as a substitute teacher in numerous area school districts, including Alliance City School District, Sebring Local School District, and West Branch Local School District, as well as many other schools throughout the area. Through her years in education, she impacted students across many classrooms and communities. Lynn truly loved teaching and valued the opportunity to help young people learn and grow. 

After many years in education, Lynn chose to step away from teaching and return home to care for her parents. She was a loving and devoted caregiver to them, demonstrating the same compassion and dedication that characterized her years as an educator. 

Lynn continued throughout her life to care deeply for those she loved and held dear to her heart. Her life was marked by a love of learning, a devotion to teaching, and a willingness to put the needs of family and others before herself. She will be missed by all who knew her, may she rest in peace until we are reunited one day in Heaven. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home Sebring, Ohio.
