Linda L. (Clayton) Haynam, 86, of Alliance, passed away October 21st, 2025, at Alliance Community Hospital surrounded by family.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard Haynam, her parents, Thomas and Lucille Clayton, and all of her siblings and their spouses.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise (Haynam) Welch, son, Daniel (Amy) Haynam, grandchildren; Stephanie Murphy, Daniel Welch, Emily(Jason) McCallister, Nathan Haynam, Nick Sokol, Kayla Sokol, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Linda was a proud 1957 graduate of Alliance High School.
She started working for the Alliance City Auditor directly out of high school and retired after 43 years, in November of 2006.
She loved the City of Alliance and everyone she worked with throughout the city offices and departments. You were all her second family. She loved all the local festivities, and would never miss an opportunity to jitterbug with her husband.
Linda oversaw the Pet Show for several years for the Carnation festival, volunteered with city charities, involved with The Alliance Quota Club, volunteered many times to be an unbiased witness to the Alliance PD, and helped organize the Veteran’s memorial in the center of town.
She was a member of Beechwood Christian Church where she sang in the choir and helped lead The Glory Gang. She also helped in the nursery at Beechwood Methodist.
While her children were involved in The Marching Dukes of Marlington, she donated a lot of her time to the band boosters. She performed with the Canton Community Christian Choir at The Canton Palace Theatre for many years.
All of this and she never missed a performance or ballgame for any of her children or grandchildren.
Her family was her soul. She thrived in her pride when it came to her children and grandchildren.
Her family invites you to celebrate Linda’s life on June 12th at Harvesting Hope in Your Community, 230 S. 12th St, Sebring, Ohio 44672. Visitation and receiving will begin at 9:30am with the service starting at 10:30am. Immediately after her memorial service, we will intern both Linda and Richard at Highland Memorial Park, 264 S. 12th St, Beloit, Ohio 44609.
