Leslie, always known as Lester Wayne Nieman, left for his ride to the heavens to ride on forever. He came into this world and blessed all of us on June 17th, 1957. This beautiful blonde, curly haired baby boy belonged to Charles and Jacqualine Nieman. He was a free spirit from that day on. Known for his kindness, generosity and wooly SHEEP HEAD hair, Lester was always more than willing to help anyone and everyone, from a perfect stranger to a lifelong friend. Lester lived a life of adventure on his motorcycle, rode all year round “never was a fair weather rider”. After riding, what gave him peace was volunteering at the Alliance City Food Bank as he did for 13 years.
He was blessed with two beautiful children Deanna Mae (Chris) Valdez and Joshua Wayne Nieman. His pride and joy was his granddaughter, Ryanne Mae Valdez who truly has the biggest heart, just like her grandpas with a very giving soul.
Of all days- the most superstitious man rode off to the heavens on Friday October 13th saying goodbye to his children, baby sister Sherry (Baby) Nieman, his dearest, closest friend and partner in crime Diana Wheeler, his best biker brothers from another mother: Buddy Warren, Annie Graber, Mike and Laura Lacher, and his nephews Wayne Allen and Jack Richard who called him “Uncle Grandpa Lester”, along with other friends that he was blessed to always have been there.
He was truly a hilarious man, always the life of the party! Coining the phrases:
“How are you doing today young lady” or “Yeah some ol’ hippie?” followed by something totally silly!
Bikers prayer:
May the sunrise in front of me, the rain fall behind me and the wind follow me. May the angels guard my travels, for they know what is ahead of me, keep me safe through rolling hills and swirling turns. Let the eagle guide me to the mountain tops. Let the moon's light guide me through the night. Lord thank you for letting me be a biker.
