Larry Allen Scott, born July 9, 1952, in Ravenna, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home in Alliance, Ohio, on January 25, 2026, after a brave fight with COPD. His wish was to die at home with his loving family at his side. He was a loving son, brother, and friend who faced life with optimism, humor, and positivity, even through health challenges and limitations.
For 25 years, Larry worked as a welder at American Steel Foundries, but his heart belonged to music and the outdoors. For over four decades, he played drums in local bands, becoming a beloved figure in the Alliance music scene and sharing his love for southern rock. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his treasured motorcycles, including his ’67 Harley Davidson Electra Glide and, later a Harley trike. A 1971 graduate of Southeast High School, Larry proudly served in the U.S. Army, reflecting his dedication and character. He is survived by his brothers Terry Scott and Kenny Dolin; stepfather Clarence Dolin; fiancée Debbie Boles; and brother-in-law Lawrence “PJ” Kelly, along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who will remember his joyful spirit and passion for music. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Scott; mother, Betty Lou (Wamer) Scott; and sister, Janice, who now welcome him in the afterlife. Until we see you again Larry, we have got it from here.
A celebration of his life will be held on February 2, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Harvesting Hope in Your Community, 230 S 12th St, Sebring, OH, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Larry will be deeply missed, but his laughter, love, and music will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home Sebring, Ohio.
