Jean Kay McNutt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated school guidance counselor, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born on December 27, 1943, to Joseph and Barbara Fabyancic in Canton, Ohio. Jean was the epitome of kindness, compassion, and devotion in all aspects of her life.

Jean embarked on her career as a school guidance counselor before deciding to prioritize raising her children. However, her passion for education never wavered. For many years, she selflessly served as a devoted substitute teacher for Sebring and West Branch School Districts. Jean's impact on the lives of countless students cannot be measured but will forever be cherished.

One of Jean's fondest memories was attending church services and witnessing the beauty of her voice harmonizing in the choir at Canton Baptist Temple. Her faith was an integral part of who she was and brought solace and hope to those around her.

A proud graduate of East Canton High School's class of 1961, Jean continued her academic pursuits at Malone College and obtained a Masters from Kent State University in 1967. Her dedication to lifelong learning was an inspiration to everyone she encountered.

Jean had a genuine zest for life and indulged in various hobbies. She adored traveling and found joy in exploring different destinations through cruises while basking in the serenity of beaches and lighthouses. Puzzle-solving was another one of her favorite pastimes that showcased her sharp intellect and determination. Mystery novels were also a constant source of delight for Jean.

Above all else, Jean cherished her family. Her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly the love she shared with them. She is survived by her loving husband Robert E McNutt of 52 years, son Robert J (Jennifer) McNutt, daughter Katherine L (Troy) Wheetley, grandchildren Taylor Schillinger, Bradley Schillinger, Bella Wheetley, TJ Wheetley, Averie McNutt, Athena Beck, and her twin sister Jane Williams. She will be fondly remembered by her surviving sisters Katherine Yoder and Rebecca Gultice, as well as her late sister Rosabell Camp. Her life was enriched by the presence of her parents, the late Joseph and Barbara Fabyancic. Jean's compassion extended to both her immediate and extended family. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews as well.
