James Michael Seesholtz, 81, of Canton Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Altercare of Alliance with his family by his side. Jim was born on June 22, 1944, in Canton and was the son of Dr. John and Jean Seesholtz. He grew up in Canton, graduating from Lehman High School where he participated in baseball, football, and played drums in the band. He received his Bachelors in Art degree from Bowling Green State University.

Jim served in the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam conflict (1967-68) in the Ninth Infantry, receiving both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was honorable discharged at the rank of E-5 Sargent.

Upon returning to Canton after being discharged, he married Martha Dale (Thompson) on February 15, 1975. He worked as a letter carrier for the U. S. Postal service for many years.

Surviving is his wife, Martha; two children, Ingrid (Gino) Carbenia of Canton, Ohio, and Robert Seesholtz, Canton Ohio; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kyle) Killough, Josephinea (Nick) Wheatley, Angelina (Nick) Garbinsky and Gina Carbenia, three great grandchildren Zoey, Emilia and Kylie, and by his two siblings, John (Sue) Seesholtz of San Antonio, Texas and Jean (Bill) Wise of Edon Ohio. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and great-grandchild, Ella Jo Wheatley.

Graveside services for Jim will be held at a later date.
