It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that our dearest, Jim Burch, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024.
Jim was born January 17, 1955, a man of many admirable qualities. He served our country with honor and dedication, as a member of the US Army before transitioning to civilian life. His commitment to public service continued as he worked for the City of Alliance, where he had a positive impact on the lives of many.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Jim was passionate about technology and electronics. He shared his knowledge and expertise as an electronics instructor in the Army and at NIT in Cuyahoga Falls. His love for technology extended beyond the classroom, as he enjoyed spending his free time exploring the world of video games.
Jim also loved to spend time outdoors. From fishing with his family, to weekend cookouts in the yard, Jim enjoyed the freedom of nature where lasting memories were created.
What truly set Jim apart was his kind and generous nature. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, going above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others. His infectious smile and positive attitude brightened the days of everyone around him. He leaves behind his loving wife Jackie, son James, daughter Stacy, grandchildren Dakota and Mike, siblings Joe and Sherry, as well as other “bonus” children, grandchildren, and many great friends. Jim has joined his mother Joyce, father Jim, sister Nora, and brother Kevin in heaven.
Per Jim’s request, he will be cremated privately. A celebration of life will be held at a later time to allow friends and family to share stories and memories of Jim’s life.
As we mourn the loss of Jim, let us also celebrate the impact he had on our lives and those he touched. If you have any fond memories or stories you would like to share, please feel free to share them with us. We would like to compile a collection of memories to honor his legacy.
