Duane Robert Anderson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on May 1, 2026, following a brief illness. Born on January 29, 1942, in Alliance, Ohio, Duane lived a life marked by dedication, love, and spirited enthusiasm for the things he cherished.
Duane graduated from Alliance High School, laying the foundation for a life of steady commitment and service. He proudly served his country in the Army, exemplifying the values of discipline and honor. After his military service, Duane embarked on a successful career, retiring from Sugardale, where he was respected by colleagues and friends alike.
A man of deep faith, Duane was a devoted Catholic whose beliefs sustained and guided him throughout his life. Family was central to Duane’s world. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Patti Jo Anderson; his children, Duane (Beth) Anderson and Dina Pazzelli; his stepdaughter, Kathryn Moran; and his cherished grandchildren Rachel, Marcus, Matthew, Michael, Victoria, Megan, and Kristina. Duane also took great joy in his role as a great-grandfather to six precious great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents.
Duane had a rich array of interests that brought him joy and camaraderie. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who found solace in the outdoors. His passion for sports was well-known, with steadfast loyalty to his favorite teams: the Cleveland Browns, the Michigan Wolverines, the Cleveland Guardians, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Those closest to Duane will always remember his infectious enthusiasm for game day.
His personality was marked by simple pleasures and thoughtful preparedness. Duane loved Reese’s cups and donuts, and he was famously always prepared with snacks to share. Among his many proud accomplishments was his membership in Alcoholics Anonymous, a testament to his strength, resolve, and commitment to living a life of integrity and growth. His affection for his cat, Petunia, was a special part of his daily happiness and companionship.
Services to honor Duane’s life will be held on May 8, 2026, at Dean's Funeral Home, located at 256 W Ohio Ave, Sebring, Ohio 44672. The Celebration of Life will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 5:30 p.m. Family, friends, and all who knew Duane are invited to join in remembering and celebrating a remarkable life marked by love, resilience, and devotion.
Duane Robert Anderson will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, his community, and the many lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit.
