Our beloved Mac passed away unexpectedly in the arms of his grandson on November 19, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on March 8, 1945, to Howard and Alberta (Wiggins) McIlvain in Sebring, Ohio. On June 6, 1981, he married the love of his life, Jean Thompson, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mac worked as a machinist at Circle Machine Rolls in Sebring for 24 years before retiring in 2007. In retirement, when he wasn’t spending time with family, you could find him at a casino or talking machining with his son and grandson.

Mac is survived by his wife Jean; his children Donald “Lee” McIlvain of Sebring, Ohio, Tammy (Jay) Luna of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jeffrey (Nina) McIlvain of Beloit, Ohio; his stepchildren Tammi Conklin of Apache Junction, Arizona, Edwin (Angie) Pearson of Windsor, Ontario, and Brian (Ivy) Pearson of Joppa, Maryland; and his grandchildren Michelle McIlvain, Brienna (Richard) Scott, Austin McIlvain, Aubri McIlvain, Nicholas Salvato, Zachary Conklin, Logan Conklin, Corey (Aileen) Pearson, Brianna (Andrew) Struble, Skylar (Hassan) Mohammedreeadh, Isabella Pearson, Noah Pearson, Alyssa Pearson, and Chaun Pearson. He also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren, his sisters Shirley (James) Steed, Sandra Sadler, and Sue (Don) Barker, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jack and Danny McIlvain; sisters Ruth Ann, Sharon Louise, Clara Mae, and Mary Grace McIlvain; and his grandson Carson McIlvain. A private celebration of life will be held on March 8, 2026. Arrangements are being handled by Dean’s Funeral Home in Sebring, Ohio.
