Donald "Don" S. Lynn

Donald S. Lynn, affectionately known as Don, 38, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2025.

Don was born on July 25, 1986, to Donald E. Lynn and Therese Lynn. He is survived by his loving children, Donnie, Steven, Hunter, and Emma; his parents, Donald E. and Therese Lynn; his brother, Joseph Lynn and his wife Rosemarie; his sister, Stephanie Penwell and her husband Shawn; his cherished nieces and nephews; his grandmother Donna Lynn and many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched deeply.

Don will be remembered as the life of the party – a class clown with a quick wit and a snappy comeback always at the ready. His love of music often accompanied his infectious humor; he was known to break into spontaneous song and was a passionate karaoke enthusiast, filling any gathering with his voice and energy. He brought that same playful spirit to his role as an uncle, famously challenging his nieces and nephews to see who could eat the most cupcakes, creating moments of pure, sugar-fueled joy. More than anything, Don cherished his children. He worked tirelessly to provide for them, formally adopting Emma, Steven, and Hunter and remaining a devoted, supportive father to all four through life's challenges. His fierce love for Donnie, Steven, Hunter, and Emma defined him. He possessed a huge heart, always attuned to those needing support and instinctively championing the underdog.

In recent years, Don showed immense courage in his battle with alcoholism. He had proudly achieved ten months of sobriety. Driven by his innate desire to help others, he found purpose in supporting fellow travelers on their recovery journey through Alcoholics Anonymous. His kindness, loyalty, and generous spirit shone brightly during this time.

A Celebration of Life to honor Don's memory will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Salem Memorial Building @ 785 E State Street. All friends, family, coworkers, and members of his AA community are warmly invited to attend this gathering to share memories and pay respects.

Don's legacy is one of profound love for his family, unwavering loyalty, the gift of music and laughter he shared freely, his playful ability to create joyful memories, his compassion for those facing hardship, and his remarkable ability to bring light to others. He will be deeply missed.
