In Loving Memory of Donald “Don” Hines JR.

Donald “Don” Hines Jr., age 72, of Alliance, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 9, 1954, to Donald Sr. and Patricia (Elliott) Hines.

Don was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time gardening, and getting lost in a good book. One of his favorite traditions was his yearly reading of The Lord of the Rings, a series he returned to time and time again. His love of reading and music reflected his thoughtful and quiet nature, and he cherished the time spent enjoying the things that brought him comfort and happiness.

Above all, Don treasured his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Karen (Stanley) Hines of Alliance; his daughter, Dawn Chance of Alliance; his two sons, Christopher (Alison) Hines of Olmsted Falls and Allen (Nico) Hines of Portland, Oregon; and his three grandchildren, Cade Chance, Cecilia Hines, and Hannah Hines. He leaves behind many memories that his family will carry with them and cherish for years to come.

Don’s passing leaves a space in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through his family, the moments they shared, and the many little things that will remind them of him.

Following cremation, there will be no services at this time. The family appreciates the love, support, and kindness shown to them during this difficult time.
