David W. Watson, a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 2, 2025, at the Oasis Center for Rehab in Youngstown, Ohio. Born on January 14, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, David brought warmth and light to every room he entered, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
A proud graduate of Southeast High School, David possessed a zest for life that was evident in everything he did. He filled his days with a variety of interests, from peaceful afternoons spent fishing and engaging in wood working to the sizzle of grilling and the heartwarming gatherings of family around his cooking. Known for his passion for coaching baseball, he inspired countless young athletes with his enthusiasm and dedication. As a proud fan of the Cleveland Browns, he shared his love for the game and the excitement of each season with his family, creating many memorable moments that will be treasured forever.
David is survived by his significant other, Debra Watson. David found immense joy in spending time with his beloved children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his children David (Adreanna Mierzwa) Watson, Renee (Nick) Cuestas, Trisha (Brandon) Curran, Brittany Watson, and Cheyenne (Sara Maddox) Watson, who will carry forward his spirit of kindness and joy. His grandchildren—Maddox, Jacob, Brianna, Selena, Mercedees, Michael, and Daxx—as well as his three great-grandchildren, were the light of his life, and he relished every moment spent with them.
David’s family tree extends to his brothers: James (Diane) Bell, Milton (Diane) Watson, Donald (Denise) Watson, and Keith (Crystal) Watson, and his sisters Sharon (Allen) Dorsey, Zamie Sapp, and Lora Harley. Each sibling holds a fragment of his heart, with memories that bring both laughter and tears.
He joins in eternal rest with his parents, Alvin and Glenna (Wimer) Watson, brothers Larry Watson, Stephen Bell, and Robert Watson, his sister Linda Bell. Their memories linger in the hearts of family members, serving as a reminder of the bonds that never truly break.
David W. Watson will be lovingly remembered not just for the roles he played as a son, brother, father, and grandfather, but for the love and resilience he demonstrated throughout his life. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, and the countless memories made that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew him.
