Dave Hammer was called home to be with the Lord on January 27th, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 24, 1954, in Alliance Ohio, a son of the late Mabel (Brady) and Harold Hammer. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1974. Shortly after, He met his wife of 45 years Caren (Clark) Hammer. He attended Community Bible Church in Westville. He spent over 31 years of his working career at MPI labels. Dave loved NASCAR and was a devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed watching Ohio State Buckeyes, coloring, and listening to his favorite female country singer, Shania Twain. A meticulous man, he took pride in keeping his car clean and his yard manicured. Dave was the family member and friend that you could always count on to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Family meant everything to him. He loved family gatherings and was happiest when he was close to the ones he loved. He had the most charming smile and gave the best hugs that would leave you smelling of old spice. He will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Those left to cherish his memory are his 3 sisters, Mary Lou (William) Menegay of Sebring, OH; Ruth Ann (Donald) Ashby of Delaware, OH; Darlene Dague of Alliance OH; his Wife Caren (Clark) Hammer; His nieces and nephews, Daniel (Letitia) Dague of Sebring, Donald Jr. (Tracy) Ashby of Delaware, Lisa Hunter of Alliance, Danette (Matt) Barnhouse of Alliance, Rene (James) Dye of Salem, and many great and nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at Dean’s Funeral Home in Sebring, Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 4:00-5:00 PM with visitation before the service from 2:30-4:00 PM. A private burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean’s Funeral Home Sebring, Ohio.
