David L. Amos
February 28, 1945 – October 23, 2025
David L. Amos, 80, of Sebring, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Aultman Compassionate Care Center on October 23, 2025. Born on February 28, 1945, in Alliance to Hiram and Erla (Hill) Amos, David will be remembered for his craftsmanship and lifelong passion for classic cars.
A machinist and maintenance repairman by trade, David had an exceptional talent for working with his hands and a deep appreciation for detail. His love of cars was more than a hobby—it was a defining part of who he was. He was an avid old car enthusiast who took great pride in building and restoring numerous street rods and Corvettes over the years. Among his most prized creations were his 1929 yellow roadster, which he built entirely from the ground up, and his 1955 Chevy 210 Post, which he lovingly rebuilt and maintained. Both vehicles were a reflection of his dedication, patience, and passion for craftsmanship.
David is survived by his wife, Barbara Amos; her daughter Jody (Mark) Edie of Sebring, Ohio; her granddaughters, Amy Beth (Kenny) Williamson of Alliance, Ohio; and Allison Edie of Sebring, Ohio. He is also survived by his brother Rolland (Cindy) Amos of Severn, Maryland; sisters Brenda Schaufler of Gales Ferry, Connecticut, and Linda (David) Stewart of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers-in-law Wayne Adams of Beloit, Ohio, James (Carol) Adams of Beloit, Ohio, Jerry (Diane) Adams of Alliance, Ohio, and John (Cindy) Adams of Beloit, Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Amos.
A Celebration of Life will be held in David’s honor on November 16, 2025, at The Williamsburg Lounge at Copeland Oaks from 2 PM-4PM. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate a life well-lived—a life built with a true love for the open road.
