Daniel Mayer

May 26, 1960 — June 15, 2020

Dan K. Mayer (#8), born 5/26/60, in Alliance, Ohio, boarded his rocket ship and flew to heaven on 6/15/20.  Dan will be remembered as a beloved husband, stepfather, and friend. He loved to tell stories (all true!) and make people laugh. He met his wife, Robin, on farmersonly.com. When she saw his picture, he was holding the reigns of two horses.  She thought, “Oh my gosh! What a feed bill!” He didn’t own horses, but he sure did like them along with trains and large machinery. He was looking for a life partner who would stand with him and knew the difference between a pipe wrench and a crescent wrench. She was looking for a partner that made her laugh and loved hugs. They were married on 5/24/14, just 6 short years until his life ended. Dan served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, stationed in Germany. He loved working with wood, whether he was making something or cutting it up for firewood. He was into recycling big time. If he saw something alongside the road he could recycle, he’d pick it up. He was the “yellow pages of Knox Township” or the “go to guy” when someone needed something, a particular person, or information. Except for a few years, he lived in Knox Township all his life. We will miss him so very much. A Celebration of Life will be held in September. In place of flowers we ask that you make a donation to the Salvation Army or St. Jude. Friends and family may share their online condolences at www.deansfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home Sebring, Ohio.
