Charles E Williamson (1948–2023)
Charles spent most of his years doing the job he loved, driving truck until he retired in 2002. Then he spent his time at Paradise Lake Park/ Fireside Lake where he lived and worked and spent time with his family and friends until his last day.
Charles E Williamson ,75 was born in Alliance, OH in 1948 and he passed away on November 6th, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born to Barbara and Charles D Williamson. They lived in Alliance until they moved to New Matamoras, OH when he was a child and he attended school and where he worked on a barge on the Ohio River.
He then moved back to Alliance where he met the love of his life, Karen Williamson (Brooks) in 1979 in Alliance. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married February, 9th 1985.
They had a blended family of 8 children. They couldn’t wait to start their life together with their children ,who meant the world to them. Though he loved camping, fishing , and hunting, Chuck’s favorite role was that as a papa. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their Papa, and he looked forward to every moment spent with all of them . Daisy (Aaron) Graham of South Carolina, Savannah Blewer of Kentucky, Hailey Blewer of South Carolina, Craig Blewer Jr. of South Carolina, Matthew Garcia, Devon Garcia, Katelyn Koch, Zachary Koch, Brandon Walrath, Carson Hoebeke, Ashley (Brandon) Ellis, Dakota Williamson, Adontis Watson, Jarrod Watson, Brett Perkins, Alexis Perkins, Tyler Perkins, Mark Carlisle, Alisha Carlisle, and Robert Merriman Jr. all from Alliance. He also was blessed to have 11 great grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews. All of his in-laws thought of Chuck as a brother and they will miss him dearly.
Chuck was a truck driver for many years but he was most passionate about his role as jack of all trades at Fireside Lake Campground formerly known as Paradise Lake Campground. Working for the park for many years ,he made many friends that he considered family. Chuck and his friends were practically inseparable throughout their lives. From campfires to cookouts/parties , they were together through it all. He had a soft spot for his furry friends, treating each and every one like the valuable family member they were. He was preceded in death by his best furry friend of 16 yrs, Max.
He will always be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends, and the way that he always lent a helping hand to everyone he knew. . We’ll always honor him by doing the same. We couldn’t have asked for a better husband , father,Papa, brother and friend and will love and miss him every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother and father Barbara and Charles D Williamson of New Matamoras OH, and his son Mark Williamson of Alliance, and is survived by his brothers James Williamson of New Matamoras, OH , Jeffrey Williamson of Fly, OH , Allen (Stacey) Williamson of Georgia, and his sister Connie (Ted) Whiteman of Fly ,OH.
He did not want funeral services, he requested that he be cremated and a celebration of life be held for his loved ones and friends. This date will be announced by his family at a later date.
