Burwell Baddeley I

December 15, 1934 — July 19, 2022

Burwell "Birdie" Baddeley I of Sebring, Ohio sadly passed away on July 19th, 2022. He was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness where ever he went. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Son of Albert and Axie Baddeley of Alliance, Ohio. Birdie was born in Alliance,  on December 15, 1934. He was preceded in death by his son Vincent E. Baddeley I in 2000, his parents and 14 brothers and sisters.  He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Arleen. Daughter Samantha Mann (Tracy) of Alliance, Tammie Laibe (John) of Columbus, Son Burwell "Birdie" Baddeley II of Sebring. Grand children Burwell "Birdie" Baddeley III (Kayla) , Sabastine Baddeley (Kaylin), Nicholas K. Mann (Nicole) , Vincent E. Baddeley II, Leah Laibe (Matt), Abby Laibe and Kyla Baddeley. Great grand children, Blake, Blade and Dominic Baddeley and Vincent E. Baddeley III. Brother, Wade Baddeley (Iris) of Alliance and multiple nieces and nephews. Birdie attended Alliance High School. He was a United States army veteran serving with the 3rd armored calvery for two years in Germany where he received the good conduct medal and army occupation metal. He was also a US army two times boxing champion and was a member of boxing golden gloves. For 25 years Birdie was employed by Sebring Local School District as a bus driver, where he very much enjoyed driving the Varsity football and basketball teams to their games. For 32 years Birdie was the owner and operator of "Birdie's Recreation" (The Rec) in Sebring. He sponsored many golf outings and softball teams. Birdie enjoyed golfing, camping and walking with his wife. He also enjoyed woodworking and was considered to be a real "Mr. Fix-it". Birdie had a large, kind and giving heart; always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His family referred to him as "Robin Hood". Whenever  you think of Birdie remember his words "Always take it easy ....."Never get Excited"
