Bobby Edward Young, 83, ended his earthly journey surrounded by his loving family while under hospice care at his home.
Born on July 23, 1942, in Logan, West Virginia, to Edward and Beatrice Young, Bobby had a diverse career managing gas stations and car repairs, driving trucks cross-country, reclaiming industrial equipment for resale, and painting elevator equipment. He retired in 2008 from Canton Elevator in Massillon, Ohio. For about 20 years, Bobby also served as a Pentecostal minister, guiding many to Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, his first wife Donna, and his sons Michael and Todd Young.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Stitz) Young, whom he married in 2006, his son Robert (Debbie) Young and family of Burbank, Ohio, his daughter Patricia (Mike) Collins and family of Rittman, and blended family members Jennifer Porter of Navarre and her children and grandchildren, Bethany Cavalier and her children of Canton, and Zachary (Jessi) Martin and family of Louisville. He was dearly loved as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Bobby cherished time with his family, especially during the holidays at his Westville Lake retirement home. The family wishes to thank Illumia Palliative Care, Southern Care Hospice, friends, and the First Brethren Church of North Georgetown and South Main Street Church of God in Rittman, as well as neighbors and friends who provided love, prayers, and support throughout his journey to be with his Lord and Savior.
In accordance with his wishes, Bobby was cremated by Dean's Funeral Home, which provided compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
