Austin Harold Richmond Jr., age 67, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, at his daughter's home surrounded by his daughter, son in law and grandchildren.
Born in Alliance, Ohio, Austin was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who brought a quiet strength and deep loyalty to those he loved. A true outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He was also known for his talents as a mechanic and handyman-always willing to lend a hand or fix what others could not. He especially cherished the company of his beloved cat, simply named "Cat."
Austin is survived by his daughters Angela Hancock, Stephanie (Victor) Barnes, and his son Austin "Peewee" Richmond III. He is also survived by his former wife Colette Richmond. He also leaves behind his sisters Geneva Greathouse and Patty Albert, sister-in-law Brenda Richmond. He was a proud grandfather to Tyrin Hancock, Darius Hancock, Malik Goosby, Victor (Leilani) Barnes IV, McKenzie Taylor, Kody Barnes, and Jayla Callock, and a cherished great-grandfather to Engeli Eva Barnes and Darius Hancock Jr.
He was preceded in death by his mother Geneva Wilson; Father Austin Richmond Sr.; stepfather Harry Wilson; stepmother Shirley Richmond; brothers Henry Richmond and Eddie Hackney; and sisters Betty Avalon, Joyce, and Carol.
In keeping with Austin's wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, and the love he quietly yet fiercely gave to his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in all who knew and loved him. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home.
