Ann was a spirited woman, standing just 5 feet tall but full of determination—once her mind was made up, it couldn’t be changed.

Ann Cobb, 78, of Alliance, passed away in Canton, OH, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on November 13, 1947, in Alliance to Henry Gray and Bertha Roberts, Ann was a spirited woman, standing just 5 feet tall but full of determination—once her mind was made up, it couldn’t be changed.

She spent her early years on a farm, learning the rhythms of agriculture, planting and harvesting potatoes and string beans. Later, she worked as a nurse’s assistant at Molly Stark Hospital and, with her love for good food, sometimes as a chef—many would call her a true foodie. She enjoyed movies, music, and always had a grounded perspective, offering wisdom to those around her.

Family was everything to Ann. With her husband, James Sr., she raised four children—Anita, James Jr., Diana, and Tara—and kept her door open to anyone in need of shelter. She cherished even the simplest things, imbuing them with deep personal value, and faced life’s hardships with a smile, trusting that God never gives more than one can handle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cobb Sr., and brothers Ernest and Tyron Roberts. She is survived by her sisters, Eleanor Carter and Catherine Stovall, brother Iziarh Roberts; her children, Anita Cobb, James Cobb Jr., Diana Cobb (Benjamin Thomas), and Tara Cobb; grandchildren Deon Johnson and children, Lucuquis Cobb and children, Marcus Cobb, Amber Cobb and children (Amillia, Caliah, Jenesis), Wesley Cobb-Prather (Javon Limbach) and children (Lysander, Leilani), and Shelby Cobb and children; nieces and nephews Annette Carter (Quantia, Trevon Sr.), Christopher Andrews Sr. (Christopher Jr.), Anthony Andrews (Jazlyn), Angel Howell (Maurice, Quala); and her extended daughter, Trish Ross, and her children Rasheen and Alexis. A time of visitation will take place Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 12-130pm at Dean's Funeral Home, 256 W Ohio Avenue Sebring, Ohio. 44672
