Alice Perkins

Salem:

Alice Faye (Ours) Perkins, 74 of Salem, Ohio died Monday Oct. 8, 2018 at the Salem Community Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born July 21, 1944 in East Liverpool to the late Dennie W. and Grace (Shields) Ours. She was a 1963 graduate of East Liverpool High.

She married her late husband Howard F. Perkins on April 11th, 1964. After marriage she spent a short time in Maryland and Texas while Howard was in the military. They then settled in East Liverpool, Ohio where she lived until 2016 when she moved to Salem to be closer to her children.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool where she volunteered with the clothes closet and kitchen. She also spent many years working in the nursery and with the 2 and 3 year class at the church. She was also a Camp Fire leader and assisted with the Cub Scouts too. She retired as the head cook at Calcutta Elementary School after 30 years working at several different schools in the Beaver Local School District.

She was proceeded in death by her husband (2007), a brother, Dennie Ours JR and a grandson Troy Perkins JR.

She is survived by her son, Aaron and Nancy (Daughtery) Perkins of Salem, Ohio, son Troy and Marcie (Kessinger) Perkins of Westerville, Ohio and daughter Shellie (Perkins) and Roger Wehr of Salem, Ohio.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Tylar Wehr, Tanner Perkins, Savanna Perkins, Mairin Duffy, Taylor Perkins, Cailin Duffy, Samantha Wehr, Trey Perkins and one great-granddaughter, Fiona Wehr.

Funeral Services will be Thursday at 11:00 an at the First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool, Ohio with Dr. Bob Sylvies (church pastor) officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
